Network Design Empowers Leading Transport Logistics Expert to Achieve an Efficient Supply Chain
Summary
Established in 2013, the company specializes in providing client-centric logistics solutions with a strong emphasis on systematic and process-driven approaches. Their expertise lies in last-mile delivery, a critical component of modern go-to-market strategies.
However, despite their industry leadership, the company encountered significant challenges in aligning logistics between clients’ manufacturing plants and regional distribution centers via its hubs.
By leveraging Translytics’ Hub-Hub Optimization Algorithm, the company successfully achieved:
INR 12.62+ Lacs/month
Saving through Hub-Hub Optimization
Areas of Focus
As Company facing problems in their network optimization, Translytics’ team collaborated with the them and identified major improvement areas:
As is Network Analysis
Gaps Analysis & Areas of improvement in As Is network
To find out opportunities of Network optimization and reduction of cost of logistics
Business case showing the saving opportunity in transport optimization
Solution Approach
Using Translytics' in-house Network Optimization algorithm, the team thoroughly examined the customer's current logistics situation. Following a comprehensive analysis, the team recommended a reduction in the number of regional distribution centers (RDCs) and suggested that materials should not be directly transferred from the plant to RDCs, nor should there be transfers between RDCs. Instead, the team suggested maintaining inventory at RDCs based on buffer stock to cater to variations in demand and in-transit days. Furthermore, the Network Optimization algorithm has the ability to simulate multiple scenarios for a specific region, based on operational feasibility.
Impact
Total possible saving opportunity through Network Optimization 12.62 Lacs per month which is 29% of spend.
Major saving is in stock transfer ( from plant to Main hub , Hub to RDCs transfer ), as touch points are reduced & FTL shipments are planned
